Another Unpopular Opinion post

I can’t be bothered to check which post in the UO “series” this is.  I want to say maybe third or fourth. Sounds right. So, onward!

If you’re not American, this may not mean all that much to you, but I’m going to go ahead and say that we are still a pretty strong force in the western world. For now. For now. And that is important, as you’ll soon see.

We’re going to talk about Revelation chapter 18 today.  Yes, some of you will already be rolling your eyes, but if you disagree, hop off and go read another post or maybe visit another page altogether. Bye! Hope to see you some other time! 👋🏻✌🏻💖🌹

Now, if you’re still here… Yes, I for one (and I am not alone!) believe there is a good case laid for America being Babylon the Great.  A world player of immense power, prestige, and political influence brought to ruin in a single day. And there are two major reasons for that. I’ll get into them in a moment, after another PSA.

Folks, I love debates. I love banter. I love deep, cerebral conversations. But I won’t tolerate disrespect or hate. So if you do disagree with me, we can talk about it. I love to hear differing opinions and perspectives. But I’m not going to argue with you. And again, I won’t tolerate any level of disrespect. So, keep that in mind if you are going to comment on this post. Thanks again! 🌹💖😊

I’ll post a passage or three right here, so you can get a feel for how dire Babylon’s situation is.  It’s not pretty.

‭[1] After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was made bright with his glory. [2] And he called out with a mighty voice, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast. [3] For all nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living.” [4] Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues; [5] for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.

Revelation 18:1-5 ESV‬

[9] And the kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived in luxury with her, will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning. [10] They will stand far off, in fear of her torment, and say, “Alas! Alas! You great city, you mighty city, Babylon! For in a single hour your judgment has come.” [11] And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn for her, since no one buys their cargo anymore, [12] cargo of gold, silver, jewels, pearls, fine linen, purple cloth, silk, scarlet cloth, all kinds of scented wood, all kinds of articles of ivory, all kinds of articles of costly wood, bronze, iron and marble, [13] cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, oil, fine flour, wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and slaves, that is, human souls.
[15]  The merchants of these wares, who gained wealth from her, will stand far off, in fear of her torment, weeping and mourning aloud, [16] “Alas, alas, for the great city that was clothed in fine linen, in purple and scarlet, adorned with gold, with jewels, and with pearls! [17] For in a single hour all this wealth has been laid waste.” And all shipmasters and seafaring men, sailors and all whose trade is on the sea, stood far off ‭[18] and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning, “What city was like the great city?”

‭Revelation 18:9-13, 15-18 ESV‬

The first reason I believe America is Babylon is because of our flagrant, proud disregard for the things of God. God has blessed my country so abundantly so far because we were founded largely on Christian principles.  We honored God, set our principles on his Word, and in return he blessed us. For centuries, he’s blessed us.  But not anymore. We are prideful, Godless, brimming with immorality, sin, and greed. And we are proud of it. That’s the terrible thing. We are unrepentant. We are defiant and also hypocritical. We point fingers at others, but say we are just fine. We think this mess we’re promoting to the world is right, pure, and good.  We’re flaunting and prideful, while Yahweh is sitting in his heaven just absolutely aghast. Horrified, saddened, and yes, angry.   He’s full of righteous anger, which is proper. Rightfully so.  After all he’s done for our country, this is how we repay him. Spitting in his face.  Not only have we forsaken Yahweh, but we are proudly, loudly, modelling and promoting debauchery and depravity. The rest of the world is following in our immoral footsteps. And this is only one reason he’s about to judge us.

The other, very simply put, is our relationship, or lack thereof (we see it unfolding in real time), with Israel.  God’s chosen, covenant people. As it says all over Scripture, he is their God, and they are his people.  The apple of his eye. Even now. Now and always. Again, all over the Old Testament, Yahweh repeats, “Whoever blesses you I will bless, and whoever curses you I will curse”.  Our current administration, instead of backing Israel in their efforts of self-preservation, is telling them to back down and let these inhuman terrorists walk all over them. For shame. For. Shame. We deserve what’s coming to us. That’s all I can say. Whatever God has in store, we deserve. It’s not just Trump, guys. I’m not saying he’s a great guy; he might not even be a good guy. But it’s not all his fault. Not by a long shot.

I’m on my knees daily for my country. I take us to the Lord in prayer all the time. Our president, our congressmen, our military, our law enforcement. Everyone. We all need Jesus. In these last moments of history as we know it, normal life as we know it, we need Jesus. I’m so excited to be going home, home to heaven. But my heart aches, and I am terrified, for those I love that will be left behind. And I’m ready to cry now just thinking about it. But all I can do is go to the Cross. Thank heavens. I can lay everything at the feet of Jesus! And, thanks to his sacrifice, I can throw myself at the throne of grace and let Yahweh, my heavenly Father, embrace me.  The ironclad fact, the overarching fact over all of God’s Word, is that he is in absolute control. Even when I am in dismay, horror, and feel nothing but anger and frustration at the events unfolding around me, I know that God has everything well in hand. Prophecy is coming to pass. The Antichrist is putting the finishing touches on his regime behind the curtain, and Jesus is at the door. He is coming. We’re about to see him face to face, if we know him personally. Do you know him personally? Are you a  “Whosoever”? Read John 3:16. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, so that whosoever believes in him will not perish, but have eternal life.” One can write sermons on every single word of that passage. That’s the only reason we’re not in heaven already! People are coming to him in droves everyday. Hallelujah!

There is no maximum capacity in heaven; it’s not standing room only. And, even though Scripture says the road to heaven is narrow, there’s going to be quite a few people who are taken in the rapture. The “harpazo”. The snatching away.  Probably a few million. Now, that may seem like nothing in a population of some eight billion, but it’s going to throw the world into a tizzy, to put it mildly. Most eschatology nerds believe the rapture is going to be the tipping point into the tribulation.  And if we see the tribulation unfolding all around us, the stage being set, world events converging, how close is the rapture? A breath away. We are teetering on the edge of oblivion. We can reach out and touch Christ’s sleeve. Pull his hair. That’s how close Jesus is.  His hand is on the knob, and he’s starting to turn it. Please. If you don’t know him personally today, find someone who can help you with that. I can help you with that. I would be honored.  Let me pray for you. I am more than willing to answer your questions. Jesus loves you. He desires you to be with him so much that he died for you. You can’t say that about anybody else. None of us can. Hallelujah. So blessed to belong to him. I pray that you are blessed today, too! 💖🌹✨💖

Jeremiah 6: Prophecy popping off the pages

Israel is doomed to destruction if they don’t accept Yeshua as Messiah. Posting a large chunk of the chapter to illustrate the heart of Yahweh toward his chosen at several key junctures in history, including this one. Dispensations are shifting, and what an honor it is to see prophecy being fulfilled. What a time to be alive. Maranatha, Jesus! ☁️🎺🪔❤️‍🔥

[14] They have healed the wound of my people lightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace. [15] Were they ashamed when they committed abomination? No, they were not at all ashamed; they did not know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; at the time that I punish them, they shall be overthrown,” says the Lord. [16] Thus says the Lord: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ [17] I set watchmen over you, saying, ‘Pay attention to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said, ‘We will not pay attention.’ [18] Therefore hear, O nations, and know, O congregation, what will happen to them. [19] Hear, O earth; behold, I am bringing disaster upon this people, the fruit of their devices, because they have not paid attention to my words; and as for my law, they have rejected it. [20] What use to me is frankincense that comes from Sheba, or sweet cane from a distant land? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices pleasing to me. [21] Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will lay before this people stumbling blocks against which they shall stumble; fathers and sons together, neighbor and friend shall perish.’”

Jeremiah 6:14-21

Guys, our heavenly Father will judge the world according to Israel’s conduct. That’s why the 7 year Tribulation period is often referred to as “Jacob’s trouble”. Because it is going to be a 7-year-long judgment against God’s covenant country, his chosen people– Israel.  However, the entire world will suffer judgment as well. Everyone will suffer immensely, except for one group of people. Who are they? The current Bride of Christ. Those folks who have bowed the knee to Jesus and have made him the center of their life. Those to whom he has so mercifully, gracefully gifted eternal life.  The only reason the rapture hasn’t already occurred is because he wants no one to perish.  Hallelujah and amen!

What Israel is doing– preparing to build a third temple– is beyond a slap in the face to Yahweh. Beyond. They have everything they need to build that temple. They have the red heifers that are needed to sacrifice and cleanse the area and all of the artifacts needed to resume sacrificial offerings.  I believe they’re supposed to do it on Passover, which is 2 weeks away. These events, along with whatever Israel does in regards to Palestine and Hamas, are what will set the tribulation to motion. Not the eclipse. The eclipse is God pronouncing some future judgment on America, no doubt.  Our time is short. America’s and the world’s in general.  I beseech you to get right with Christ this very moment. No flowery language is needed; absolutely nothing needs to be done on your part except faith and belief. Get alone with God, and talk to him from your heart and soul. That’s all he wants. Your heart. The Holy Spirit will take care of everything else in the days and weeks to follow, until that trumpet sounds and we are called up to be with the Trinity (Father God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit) in heaven!

Another Dope cover and more

It’s fun when a band are decent artists in regards to their original content, but even better when their covers melt faces! 🤘🏼🎵🎶

I saw Dope once, many moons ago at Croc Rock in Allentown. I was still at Big Lots (was invited to the show by a coworker, in fact), so it must have been 2005-6.  🤘🏼🎶🎵 Pretty slammin’ show. First time in a mosh pit. Learned to 1) Stay on the periphery, and 2) be ready to ward off folks with hands and arms. Phew!

Then I saw Breaking Benjamin twice, and Killswitch Engage once or twice. I’ve been to several other live shows, too, but never enough. Music flows through these veins alongside the blood! 🥰🥰 Thanks, mom and dad. I know it’s because of them! 😘🤗🎵💖🌹

Stay tuned for more. Busy day! Christ is risen; he is RISEN INDEED!! ❤️‍🔥🕊️☁️🎺 And he’s coming for us so very soon!! Maranatha!!

It’s now getting into the late afternoon on Monday, but it was always my intention to edit the post. I wasn’t done, but we were busy with seeing family yesterday afternoon post skating. Today, too, we’re going to my dad’s for dinner. Then, we have a regular skating session tomorrow night, and finally Wednesday my father-in-law and his wife are coming over to watch the girls’ gymnastics class and have a meal after. We’re very popular all of a sudden! 😮‍💨🙄 This introvert is going a little nuts, but I’ll survive.

So, I’m back with a skatemate again. I’m in a terrible place mentally right now with regards to skating. I have no idea what happened. It must have been that ambulance last Tuesday night. And the fear and foreboding haven’t left my psyche.  But I can’t give up. So, I’m back at square one, but I’m not down and out. I won’t be down and out till God says it’s over. And that may be soon–but it won’t just be for me. Any day is a good day for the rapture of the church! Amen? Amen.

I figured I’d lighten the semi-somber mood of the post with something funny. Man on the Moon is one of those polarizing films. You either hate it or love it. Another one that comes to mind is Napoleon Dynamite.  I happen to think both are hilarious– or at least not unfunny (ND). If that lessens your estimation of me, so be it. We each like what we like.  And dislike.  🤷🏼‍♀️

Well… Dad’s tonight was an eye opener. I can’t get into details, but please pray for us. There’s issues that we can only do so much about, family or not.  God has to take care of things as only he can.  My dad and aunt are only human. 😥😢😓🙏🏻 Thanks so much!! God is always, always in total control. He knew how this situation would end before we knew its beginning. 🙏🏻🙌🏻

The most important word ever spoken

Happy Good Friday, everybody! This site is called “Verbose Lady”, so clearly I love words. There is one word that was spoken by one man on the second most important day in human history. The most important day came three days later, Resurrection Sunday, when he rose from the dead. What is that word? Tetelestai.

“Tetelestai” is Greek for “It is finished”. It literally means “DONE”!
Jesus cried out this phrase just before he gave up his spirit on the cross. He even asked for water so he could shout it.  What did he finish? His mission. He died for the sins of the world–every sin , committed by everyone.  There isn’t a soul he didn’t die for.  There isn’t a sin his blood cannot atone for. Hallelujah! 🙌🏻🙏🏻🥹

Have you sat with Jesus at the cross?  None of us were there 2000 years ago, but he saw you. He knew you from the foundations of the world. He’s waiting for you. He wants to forgive you. No sin is too great to be permanently destroyed by his perfect, holy blood.  What a relief, right?! Amen. Worship Jesus with me this Good Friday and every day!! Today is day one of permanent salvation! Thank heavens we don’t earn it, or have to do anything to keep it! Jesus did it ALL! 🥰🙌🏻✝️🙏🏻🕊️

Scandalous Grace: Once Saved, Always Saved!

Glory be to God, in the person of Jesus Christ! 🙏🏻🙌🏻🩸 Amen??

It amazes me how some so-called “saved” folks don’t know or ignore the Gospel.  What is the Gospel? Simply this:

[16]  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16 ESV‬

And this::

[3] For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, [4] that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 ESV‬

Why is this post titled “Scandalous Grace”? Let’s dive in.

The whole gospel is scandalous. Jesus, an innocent, who knew no sin, died for a world populated with depraved sinners. He’s the only sinless person to walk the earth.  Yet, it was Yahweh’s plan for him to die for us sinners.  He didn’t have to agree to our heavenly Father’s plan, but he did, because he was “obedient unto death” (Phil. 2:8), which of course includes the horrors of crucifixion. An innocent dying for the guilty is scandalous indeed!

This is what trips up folks. They say, “So all you have to do is ‘get saved’, profess Jesus Christ by faith, and you’ll go to heaven? How is that fair?  You’re telling me that if Hitler professed Christ, he’s now in heaven? Child rapists are in heaven? Murderers are in heaven?!” Then they proceed to get mad. Yes. They are in heaven if they have professed Christ by faith. That is the Gospel. He removes our sins as far as the east is from the west! He took them onto himself on that cross. He washed us in his holy, perfect blood. Our sins are now forgotten. Flushed away. If that isn’t scandalous, what is? 🩸🙌🏻🙏🏻

This is why they think works are necessary to get into heaven. But they are wrong. It’s not about what you do. Heaven is not a meritocracy. We are admitted by the grace of God alone.  That’s very hard to understand in today’s world, but it is the truth.

“So Steve gets to go to heaven, even if he’s a rapist or a murderer. All because he professed Christ?” Again, yes. Folks, don’t worry about Steve. Don’t worry about Hitler. Dare I say it, don’t worry about Trump or Biden. Worry about yourself. Concern yourself with your own soul. Time is short. The seven year Tribulation is at the world’s doorstep.  Let’s not quarrel about salvation, or the nature of it. Yahweh is fed up with the entire world, not just America. That eclipse is coming in a few weeks, but again, don’t get too wrapped up in it. Just worry about your own soul. Get yourself in a quiet place, center yourself on Christ and who he is, and get right with him. If you need any help, please contact me. I would be glad to counsel you and help you understand who Jesus is. What he’s done for you. But time is short and it’s beyond important to enter in to a relationship with him as soon as possible.

I am thanking God today that I am an admittedly unworthy recipient of his scandalous grace. I can’t wait to praise him forever and ever in heaven. That time is coming. We don’t have five or 10 years. The world is getting darker and more diabolical by the day. We don’t have much time. Come to the throne today. Humbly and honestly. Jesus is waiting. He’s waiting to embrace you and absolve you of your worst self. And if you are saved, show some grace to others! Be the light of God, the kindness and compassion of God.  ✨🕯️ This world so needs it. Amen and amen!

I only just realized at the close of this post how perfect it is for Holy Week starting on Sunday. Serendipity indeed! I didn’t even have Holy Week in mind when I wrote this. The topic  was simply placed on my heart and mind by the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!

That’s life

As Frank sang, eh?

Anyway.. J is single.  She realized I was right and just let him escape. I feel so bad.  And it’s even more ironic, because as their “relationship” imploded, my friendship with the boy’s mother started to grow! Ohh well. My friendships are certainly not dependent on my daughter’s relationships. It’s just a sad state of affairs–for them.  They don’t even appear to be friends at the moment.  That’s usually what happens, though, when broken hearts are involved.

She even told me, “I’m never asking a guy out again.” I told her not to go that far; she just has to become more perceptive. Read people better.  She will learn these skills as she ages.  Life teaches us these things day by day. God brings them to us as he sees fit. So blessed to lay all my joys, struggles, temptations, sorrows, frustrations, longings, everything, at his feet! What a relief. He is so much more capable at sorting everything out than I am. Let’s pray together.

Heavenly Father, I come before you right now in gratitude and humility. I just want to thank you for who you are and all you do for us. I can’t even open my eyes and get out of bed in the morning without you. Quite frankly, none of us can. But it takes the Holy Spirit wooing our souls, stirring them up, for us to even realize that. So I thank you for opening my eyes. I thank you for opening up my family’s eyes. I pray that you do so for my extended family, my friends, everybody whose name you have etched with your own hands on my heart. If they don’t know you, they need to get right with you quickly. The proverbial feces has been hitting the fan for some time, but the force is going to escalate. Everyone’s life, every individual soul on this planet, is going to get a lot harder very soon. I pray they get into the life boat you offer–that is, the love and salvation your Son Jesus brings. He is the only way, truth, and life. Thank you so much for yourself, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I know I am nothing without the Trinity. Thank you so much, Father. Amen and amen.

Growing Pains

I think Jocelyn, my oldest (15 on March sixth), may be going through some relationship trials with her boyfriend. It’s times like this that parents, especially parents of teens and young adults, wish they could do life for their kids. I hate to see her in pain that I can do nothing, absolutely nothing, about.  Even if she were to confide the entire situation to me, I can only give advice. I can’t fix it. I can only love her through it.  So painful and frustrating for me, as well as her! 😩🥺😭

The ray of light through this as her Mom is that I know this is a rich experience and will bring wisdom and exponential growth.  Those of us who are wise (and who can be full of true, deep wisdom without the Holy Spirit?) eventually realize we can learn from our deepest pain. We shouldn’t stay in it, but we should grab hold and use it. Redeem it with the help of our Friend and Advocate, Jesus Christ. Amen??  Next time around, whether with the same or a different boy, she will act differently. She will be more mature, wiser, more tender and kind.  To him and herself.

Pray with me for Jocelyn, and her boyfriend (his name is Richard). They will both come out of this experience better people–whether together or not.  🙏🏻😔💖🤝🏻

Here’s a relatively “new” classic. They just melt my heart. 💋❤️‍🔥💖🥰😘😉🫠🌹🌹🌹

John 3:18

I have for y’all today a few different translations of an amazing verse! Be blessed, fellow Christ follower! Be ever so beautifully, abundantly blessed. If you don’t know Jesus personally, please contact me! I would love to listen to, encourage, and pray for you! 🌹🙌🏻🙏🏻💖

‭John 3:18 AMP‬
[18] Whoever believes and has decided to trust in Him [as personal Savior and Lord] is not judged [for this one, there is no judgment, no rejection, no condemnation]; but the one who does not believe [and has decided to reject Him as personal Savior and Lord] is judged already [that one has been convicted and sentenced], because he has not believed and trusted in the name of the [One and] only begotten Son of God [the One who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, the One who alone can save him].

Amplified translation

‭John 3:18 ESV‬
[18] Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

English Standard Version

‭John 3:16-18 MSG‬
[16-18] “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.

Hope

Hope may indeed be “a thing with feathers”

But it’s also so much more.

Hope looses the bonds of anxiety and fear, so we can fly untethered

Through our toughest days.  It brings effervescent joy on tides of deep faith.

From whence does true hope come? Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who bore

Our blackest sins and destroyed them,  ending their torment.

Hope is alive and tangible because of the Christ!

Need a dose of hope today? It can be yours in a trice!

Simply fall to your knees and call on the Name above all Names–

He will shoulder all your blame and strife.

Then hope can be yours, forever and always

All the days of your life!
